A state-recognized basic safety course for those seeking a Massachusetts License to Carry. It consists of a group session on theory in our Greenfield classroom and a separate range session in South Deerfield for the required live-fire curriculum.

$100/Student 6Hrs Classroom + 2Hrs Range

The classroom session includes:

• Personal safety and health considerations.

• Federal and state firearms law.

• A short break for lunch

• Terminology of firearms and ammunition.

• Safe firearm handling techniques.

• Self defense and concealed carry considerations.

• A written exam (25 questions, multiple choice).

• Scheduling your live-fire range session.

The range session will consist of:

• Range safety and etiquette.

• Loading, aiming, firing, and unloading real firearms.

• Effective and safe accuracy with handguns.

This course does not include: defensive shooting training, shotgun or rifle live fire.

For the classroom portion you will need:

• Note taking supplies.

• Beverage and lunch/snacks.

No firearms or live ammunition are permitted inside the classroom.

For the range session you will need:

• Weather appropriate outdoor clothing.

• Closed-toed shoes.

• Sunscreen/bug repellent as necessary.

Personal protective equipment, targets, firearms, and ammunition will be provided by the instructor.
